Location of Douglas Bridge. It is a tiny village on the west side of the River Mourne. The bridge is over the Douglas Burn, the name of which is an interesting derivation from the original Irish. Droichead na Dúghlaise, 'Bridge of the Black Stream.'

The Post Office opened August 1855 with a HO and PT = Strabane. It is located 3 miles North West of Newtownstewart.

In 1862 foot post from Strabane.

Thanks to Stan Challis for provision of the images and above information.
