PO was established in 1879 and has been managed by the Hamilton family since then. PO has been in its present location since c1960. In 2009 the Post Office was believed to be closed.

24 Mar 1890 - John Hamilton, Farmer - Postmaster (PRONI GPO 5/2 L'Derry Staff Book)
1964-1994, James Hamilton (30 years at 49), Previously Joe Hamilton (Uncle) and prior to that James Hamilton, (Father to Joe).
In 1904 the PO was at the side of the house on Dowland Rd (PO1). By 1923 (PO2)it had moved to an outbuilding at the same address, and by 1960's (PO3) it had moved to 49 Aghanloo Road, BT49 0HX on the A2.
